6 Days Primate And Adventure Safari In Rwanda
Trip overview
This six-day safari brings you to the best safari spots in Rwanda, a country in the east of the African continent. In six days, you will be picked up at the spectacular Kigali international airport/Kigali City and will go chimp trekking in Nyungwe national park, gorilla trekking in Lush Volcanoes national park, wildlife drives, and a boat cruise in Nyungwe national park.
Each of the six days is unique, with your eyes fixed on the chimps playing, the Gorillas feeding, or the gem guarding the predators. Each day's activities begin at sunrise and continue until sunset. This safari begins and ends in Kigali, Rwanda, and requires meticulous time management.
Detailed Trip
Day 1: Kigali city tour
Our corporate driving guide will greet you on this day and inform you on the six-day safari to Volcanoes National Park. After a glass of juice, you'll go on a city tour that includes stops to the Genocide Memorial Site, where over 250 thousand Tutsi and Hutu victims are buried, local marketplaces, and other locations throughout one of the world's most dynamic cities.
A native supper meal in one of the local markets is another opportunity to experience Kigali's nightlife. Following that, you will head to bed with a peaceful nap after all of the day's activities and meals.
Day 2: Kigali city to Volcanoes National Park
After a delectable breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and drive for around 2-3 hours to the endangered mountain gorillas' habitat, where they display dominance, domination, love, and more. You can fall in love with the Gorillas, as well as their habitat, mountains, caves, and more, in Rwanda's volcanoes national park in the north.
You will arrive at the resort and check in. Before going cave exploring in the Musanze caverns, lunch will be served. This cave is huge, well-designed, and home to bat colonies. You will walk for an hour in it with flashlights, following the instructions of the guide from beginning to conclusion. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight after dusk.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking
A glass of juice or a cup of coffee can help you get your day started. After that, you'll be transferred to the park headquarters for a pre-tour briefing with the ranger guides. The visitors will be assigned to a gorilla family, which will take 1-8 hours to trace depending on how far they have travelled, plus an additional hour to observe them socialize, jump on tree branches and other activities.
Mountain gorillas can only be found in Africa's lush jungles, where they call home. They have a human appearance and eat vegetables. After your gorilla trekking adventure, return to the resort for refreshments and dinner before retiring for the night.
Day 4: To Akagera National Park
After a fantastic night, say your goodbyes to the gorilla caregivers and check out of the resort for a transfer to Akagera National Park, Rwanda's only savannah park, with an en route detour for lunch and cultural exchange. The route leading to the hub of flora and fauna is lined with plants, dotted homesteads, and other features. The receptionist at the lodge where you will stay two nights will greet you warmly and lead you to your room for some rest and relaxation. Dinner will come next, followed by a nap.
Day 5: Game drive and Boat cruise
You'll start the day with a delicious cup of coffee before joining the prey and predators in wandering across the wide savannah park of Akagera national park. It is not guaranteed that you will see all of the animals you have envisioned, such as hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, and lions, but one thing is certain: you will see the bulk of them, including African elephants, cape buffaloes, warthogs, several antelope species, giraffes, and more. Birds and primates in the grassland are higher on the list of sounds and sights of the day.
The game drive will take approximately 3-4 hours, with a lunch break in between. After that, join the rest of the partygoers on a two-hour boat ride to a spot where you can see hippos, crocodiles, and aquatic birds, among other things. The day concludes with a campfire experience, photography, and more at your lodge.
Day 6: Departure
Start the day off right with a delicious cup of coffee and then check out for a snack. Transfer to Kigali city, where you can buy some souvenirs as a memento of the unique and lovely land of Kigali. Before leaving the skilled driving guide, you will enjoy a scrumptious lunch.
