Itinerary Overview Gorilla Holidays Uganda Tour
Witness majestic creatures on our gorilla holidays Uganda tour which combines Gorillas, lost chimps of Kyambura and wildlife. The safari starts with wildlife/game viewing and chimpanzee tracking in Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is Uganda’s second biggest park and an adventure to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is an iconic destination to enjoy guided mountain gorilla trekking experience and Batwa culture encounter.
Queen Elizabeth NP offers a chance to enjoy the most of a game drive along Kasenyi Plains, a rich area with buffaloes, elephants, antelope families, lions, warthogs, leopards, and birds and an encounter with aquatic life sightings along Kazinga Channel while on a boat cruise. We shall also enjoy a drive in the South of Queen Elizabeth NP – for a chance to encounter tree climbing lions and other wildlife that reside in this area.

Day 1: Pick Up & Transfer To Queen Elizabeth, Evening Game Drive
On this day, your guide will meet your and pick you from your hotel or agreed destination in Kampala and start off this amazing trip to your first destination that is Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will spend about 6-7 hours driving and along the way, we shall have a stopover at the Equator crossing for some photo moment and en route lunch in Masaka or Mbarara depending on the time before we continue to our final destination where we shall have an evening game drive with chances of encountering wildlife like elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, warthogs among others before driving to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking, Afternoon Kazinga Channel Launch Cruise
After a relaxed breakfast we shall drive over to the park headquarters for a chance to track the lost chimpanzees of Kyambura. We shall start with a briefing about the Dos and Don’ts of chimpanzee tracking. After being assigned a ranger guide, we shall start our trek into the forest. The jungle hike offers a chance to see some wildlife and amazing views of the Kyambura Gorge. When you finally meet the chimpanzees, you will be allowed one hour to see how the chimpanzees interact with each other as they play, feed and live.
In the afternoon, we shall proceed to Kazinga channel to enjoy a boat/launch cruise taking about 2-3 hours for an opportunity to encounter aquatic wildlife that visit and reside on the Kazinga channel such as hippos, crocodiles, birds, plus elephants, buffaloes, and a lot more. If you are a keen birder, the channel offers a stunning view of birdlife. After this, we shall drive back to the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable Np Via Ishasha Game Drive
After breakfast, set off for a morning game drive for a chance to encounter wildlife including buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, lions, birds, leopards, and more as they go about their jungle life. After this, we shall embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable NP via an afternoon game drive in Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP for a chance to sight some tree climbing lions in the fig-trees, but also to see buffaloes, elephants, topis and more. In East Africa, tree climbing lions live in only Uganda in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP & Tanzania in Lake Manyara N. Park. We shall continue with the exciting drive to the main highlight of this adventure, Bwindi which is home to the magnificent Mountain gorillas that are close cousins to human beings. We shall enjoy a relaxed evening at the lodge, dinner and comfortable overstay.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking, Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi
Today marks the highlight of our safari as we tick off Gorilla trekking. After an early breakfast, we shall set off to the park headquarters for briefing about the Dos and Don’ts of gorilla trekking and also be allocated a gorilla family to trek and a ranger guide. Besides the gorillas this forest is full of birds, butterflies and plant species plus forest hog, forest elephants, statungas and duikers that you may encounter as you walk through the forest. When you meet the gorillas, you will spend one hour around them as you learn more about these creatures. After the trek your guide will pick you and journey back to the lodge for lunch before we start driving through the cultivated hills to reach the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. We check in to a lake 1840m above sea level that is safe to swim in and a great place to relax. . Possible activities are swimming, self-guided walk on the island, canoeing and visiting village islands. Note that activities this day are optional and not included in the price.

Day 5: Transfer Back To Entebbe
Early in the morning, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast and later bid farewell to the beautiful Bwindi Impenetrable NP and start our return journey to Kampala/Entebbe with en route lunch in Mbarara and Equator for one final glance or some shopping to mark the end of the 5 days Gorilla Holidays Uganda Tour.
