Itinerary Overview
This 14 Days Hiking & Primate Safari in Uganda offers you a hiking adventure and primates in Uganda. Enjoy a 3 Days hike in the beautiful scenic Mountain Rwenzori and a hike to the top of Mount Mgahinga Volcano in Mgahinga Gorilla NP. We shall have a great encounter of primates starting with Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest NP and Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable NP & Golden monkey tracking in Mgahinga Gorilla NP.
The tour also offers visit at Lake Bunyonyi, cultural encounter of Batwa community, a boat trip on the famous Kazinga channel with a chance to site elephants and hippos plus rewarding game drives in Ishasha for tree climbing lions and Queen Elizabeth NP.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Entebbe Airport, Transfer To Hotel In Entebbe
When you land at Entebbe Airport, the driver will welcome you and transfer you to a Hotel in Entebbe ahead of your safari. While in Entebbe, we can visit art and craft markets, shopping malls and take a walk in the botanical gardens or relax at your hotel.

Day 2: Transfer To Kibale Forest NP
After an early breakfast, we shall start our journey to Kibale Forest NP. It is a long drive of about 5hrs so we shall have lunch in Fort Portal town and continue for an evening around the crater. Along the journey we shall go through typical African village setup in the far countryside and tea plantations. In the craters, we have a chance to spot monkey species such as black and white colobus, red colobus, red tailed monkey and grey cheeked mangabeys.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking, Transfer To Kasese
After our breakfast, we shall drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts of Chimpanzee trekking. We shall be allocated a trekking group and ranger and then start our trek into the forest to search for human closest cousins. While in the jungle you have a chance to spot butterflies and bird species such as the native Great blue Turaco, joyful greenbul, olive long tailed cuckoo and the superb black bee eater. After the trek, we shall have lunch and start our journey to Kasese.

Day 4: Rwenzori Hiking Through Montane Forest Zone
After our breakfast, we shall drive to the briefing point and start the hike about what to expect in the Rwenzori mountains during the hike. The hike will go through the Afro montane forest zone with a steady climb for about 6 kilometers. You then proceed along a steep ridge towards Sine hut. Enjoy the beautiful Enock waterfalls close to the hut.

Day 5: Rwenzori Hiking Through Bamboo Zone To Small Lobelia Garden
After breakfast, you will enter the Bamboo zone and continue to Kalalama camp. While at the camp you will make a stop for a short rest then continue climbing high before crossing a thick forest covered with hanging mosses to a small lobelia garden. You will then descend through a mossy ridge to Samalira camp where you will retire for an overnight.

Day 6: Rwenzori Hike Down & Transfer To Lodge By Queen Elizabeth NP
Today marks the last day of our Mountain Rwenzori hike, we shall descend through the Bamboo zone on to a heavily forest ridge where we have a chance to meet primates like the black and white Columbus monkeys. Continue descending to the base camp as we have accomplished our Mountain Rwenzori hike. Your guide will be ready to welcome and pick you at the base camp and you start your journey Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 7: Leisurely Morning, Afternoon Kazinga Channel Boat Trip
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and coupled by beautiful view of Queen Elizabeth NP as you rest from the Rwenzori hike. You can enjoy swimming and some massage by the lodge, have lunch and prepare to drive for a boat trip on the famous Kazinga Chanel which links Lake George to Lake Edward.
While on the channel, we have a chance to spot different bird species like pelicans, vultures, fish eagles, kingfishers, sacred ibis and many more and animals such as buffalos, bushbucks, crocodiles, hippos, elephants, and others not forgetting the stunning view of birds along the peninsula. Return to the lodge with a simple game drive

Day 8: Morning Game Drive, Transfer To Ishasha, Afternoon Game Drive
After an early breakfast, we shall drive to the park to enjoy Queen Elizabeth National Park at sunrise with more chances to encounter the Big 5 like Elephants, Buffalos, big cats; Lions, Leopards, warthogs, carnivals like Hyenas and many more species that resident in this park not forgetting the abundant bird species in the wetland spots as we reach the flamingoes in the salt lakes.
After the game drive we shall continue driving towards Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP which is famous for tree climbing lions. We shall reach the lodge on time, check in and enjoy a relaxed lunch then later in the afternoon go for a game drive with a chance to meet topis, buffaloes, elephants and hopefully a good sighting of tree climbing lions.

Day 9: Transfer To Bwindi Mountains, Batwa Community Walk
Wake up to a leisurely breakfast and then embark on our journey to the misty mountains of Bwind. The drive is offers great views of cultivated hills and the misty mountains of Bwindi. We shall arrive on time for check in and lunch and in the afternoon we shall go for a cultural encounter in the Batwa Community. The batwa are also known as the forest people. Enjoy their culture and traditions as they show case their music, dance and drama plus story telling. Return to the lodge for a relaxation and dinner.

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking Day, Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi
After our breakfast, we shall drive to the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. It is at this point that we shall be allocated a trekking group and ranger guide to start our journey into the forest.
The forest is full of birds, butterfly and plant species plus forest hogs, forest Elephants, Statungas and Dikers which you will encounter during your trek. You will be allowed one hour to be with the mountain gorillas after you meet them as you take pictures and study their behaviors. After the trek we shall have lunch and transfer to the scenic Lake Bunyonyi driving through cultivated hills.

Day 11: Leisurely Morning By Lake Bunyonyi & Transfer To Kisoro
After a relaxed breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning by the beautiful lake. You can also engage in other optional activities like swimming, hiking, canoeing and visiting other islands. After lunch we shall embark on a short journey to the Kisoro for dinner and an overnight.

Day 12: Mt Mgahinga Volcanoe Hike
After breakfast, we drive to Mount Mgahinga Gorilla NP for a volcano hike of Mt Mgahinga. We shall have a short briefing about what to expect during the hike and then proceed with a hike to the top of the volcano and down which will take approximately six hours. You will see beautiful scenery, stunning views as well as giant lobelia and bamboo forest. After the hike your guide will be waiting for you to take you back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight.

Day 13: Golden Monkey Trekking, Transfer To Kigali, Rwanda
Wake up to a hot breakfast and later transfer to the park head offices for a briefing about the golden monkey trekking before you head to the thick bamboo forests to search for the monkeys. The trekking takes about 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on the previous movement.
You will be given one hour to spent and experience with the moneys, at this point feel free to pull out your cameras to capture your life time experience trekking the golden monkeys as they play and jump from one brunch to another, you will enjoy how they feed their young ones. After the trek, your guide will pick you and you drive to Rwanda and its capital Kigali where we shall have the last night of this 14 days Uganda safari.

Day 14: Transfer To Kigali Airport
After breakfast, your guide will takes you to Kigali Airport for your flight back home to mark the end of our 14 Days Hiking & Primate Safari in Uganda. Depending on your flight schedule, we can first make a visit to the genocide memorial center in Kigali to learn about the countries sad history.
